Changing of the guards – Syntagma
Syntagma Square and the changing of the Guards
Syntagma means constitution, and this is the name of the central square in Athens since it is the home of the House of the Parliament. In front of the ochre colored Parliament building, two evzones guards in traditional uniform and pointy red shoes (tsarouchia) are standing without moving. Every hour of the day or night, every day of the year, sun or rain, there is a ceremonial changing of the guards, which is worth seeing with a camera. You can then feed the pigeons of the square and take more pictures. The National Gardens are right next to it.
